I am thrilled to share that Mia's adoption has now been finalized! It was an unforgettable day. The judge graciously invited our family to come behind the bench and even allowed our oldest daughter and son to take turns striking the gavel, making Mia's adoption into our family official. It is a memory we will treasure for the rest of our lives.
It has now been seven months since we first met our precious daughter in the NICU. Mia was born prematurely at just 28 weeks gestation, weighing only 1 pound, 13 ounces. The day we brought Mia home, she weighed just 4 pounds, 10 ounces. Looking back now, it is incredible to see how faithfully God has sustained and strengthened her every step of the way.
We chose to build our family through adoption because we believe every child is created in the image of God with immeasurable dignity, worth, and purpose. We also believe every child deserves a safe, permanent, and loving family. Adoption was a prayerfully considered calling that God placed on our hearts.
What once seemed uncertain has become one of the greatest gifts of our lives.
Today, Mia is thriving. She is surrounded by love every day and is constantly being held, encouraged, and celebrated by our family. Her big sister and big brother absolutely adore her and eagerly look for opportunities to help care for her, make her laugh, and shower her with affection. Watching the bond between our three children has been one of the greatest blessings of this entire journey.
As we reflect on our adoption story, we can clearly see God's hand guiding every step. Through countless prayers, unexpected doors opening, and His perfect timing, He brought Mia into our family exactly as He had planned. What once seemed uncertain has become one of the greatest gifts of our lives. We firmly believe that God wrote Mia into our family's story long before we ever met her, and we are forever grateful that He entrusted her to us.
Thank you once again for investing in families like ours and for faithfully serving those called to adoption.
